Dominica citizenship
Dominica offers fund contribution and approved real estate routes. Compare them against your family size and budget.
Investment options
The Economic Diversification Fund (EDF) is a non-refundable contribution, starting at US$200,000 for a main applicant or US$250,000 for a main applicant and up to three qualifying dependants. Approved real estate starts at US$200,000, with government fees from US$75,000 for a single applicant. Neither figure is the total application cost.
Eligibility and family
The main applicant and qualifying dependants must pass background checks. Eligible family may include a qualifying spouse, child, parent or grandparent, depending on age, relationship and financial dependency. Check any restrictions relating to nationality and residence history.
Application process
Apply through a government-authorised agent and cooperate with due diligence and interviews. The authority requires applicants aged 16 and over to attend an interview. After approval in principle, complete the EDF contribution or real estate investment as instructed, then obtain citizenship documentation and apply for a passport.
Documents and costs
Prepare passports, civil records, police certificates, proof of address and source of funds, and check translation and certification requirements. In addition to the investment, allow for processing, due diligence, interview and certificate fees. Real estate government fees depend on family composition.
Real estate and next steps
Approved real estate is generally held for at least three years from citizenship; a resale to another citizenship-by-investment applicant requires at least five years. Independently review ownership, operating costs and exit terms, as well as existing nationality and tax implications.
Official guidance
Amounts were checked against official sources in November 2026 and may change. Confirm current rules and total costs before applying.
