The pathway
The international telework route is for eligible people working remotely for companies outside Spain. Permitted work and evidence requirements differ for employees and self-employed applicants; check the rules that apply to you.
Prepare your application
Evidence normally includes the overseas company’s genuine activity, an ongoing employment or business relationship, income, qualifications, health insurance and a criminal record certificate. Check current financial thresholds and document requirements with the authority.
After approval
A visa applied for abroad and a residence permit applied for in Spain have different procedures and durations. Check the validity granted, foreigner registration, renewal, family and social security arrangements, and tax obligations.
