02 / ABOUT THE DATA
Understanding the data
The ranking counts destinations recorded as visa-free, including freedom of movement, or visa on arrival; eVisa and electronic travel authorisation are excluded. Equal counts share a rank. Coverage may be incomplete, and unknown or missing information does not mean entry is refused.
The data concerns ordinary passports and short-term tourism. Eligibility and length of stay may depend on conditions such as port of entry, holding another visa or onward tickets; a single category cannot capture every requirement. Rules can change: consult the sources and destination authorities before travelling.
